Salesian Lay Missionaries
The Volunteer Missionary Movement (VMM) VMMis seeking a Central American Mission Coordinator (CAMC) for a minimum two-year term, beginning June, 2010, to serve approximately 25-30 hours per week to coordinate, help, advise and support up to 15 of our volunteers in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua as they serve in a variety of programs with different Project Partners (NGOs, non-profits, religious organizations). Responsibilities include (but not limited to): handle logistics of housing, language school, visa applications, transportation, annual retreats and spiritual gatherings; visit all volunteers and Project Partners at least twice a year; act as primary resource and contact in emergencies, crises and natural disasters; participate in VMM orientation training; assist in fundraising; organize and lead small delegations for VMM donors and Members. In addition, the CAMC will be expected to volunteer with a Project Partner for about 10-15 hours per week. Bachelor’s Degree and fluency in Spanish required.
