For Volunteer Programs : National Conference2008 CNVS National Conference
THEME: Sustained by the Spirit: Person, Program and Planet DATE: October 16-18, 2008 LOCATION: Portland, Oregon Catholic Network of Volunteer Service’s (CNVS) 31th National Conference will take place in Portland, Oregon at the DoubleTree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, Portland-Lloyd Center. The conference will open at 3 PM Thursday, October 16 and conclude following the Father George Mader Award Dinner the evening of Saturday, October 18, 2008. Sponsorship, Exhibit and Advertisement Opportunities: For more information on how you might be able to reach our participants, please down load our 2008 Fact Sheet Keynote Speakers: Pre-Conference: Sr. Margaret Galiardi, OP, will lead an earth-based retreat that will provide personal refreshment and renewal in the outdoors. The retreat will give you a stepping stone in learning how to lead a similar retreat with your volunteers or students. The pre-conference workshop will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at The Grotto in Portland, Oregon. Ms. Marie Dennis, Director of Maryknoll Office of Global Concerns, a Pax Christi USA Ambassador of Peace and Co-President of Pax Christi International Dr. Raymond Reyes, Associate Mission Vice President for Intercultural Relations at Gonzaga University and expert on diversity and intercultural pedagogy.
