

For Volunteers : Urgent Opportunities : More InfoUrgent OpportunityLive-In Staff Position at Bethany House, A Catholic Worker Women's Shelter Bethany House has two live in staff members along with full-time “live-out” staff and numerous volunteers who help run the house. Guests are women who live in the shelter, typically for 45 days. Bethany House can accommodate from 8 to 10 guests at any one time, depending on the number of children a woman may have with her. This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience for a woman interested in a ministry of presence to women in crisis and transition. Our volunteers have extremely varied backgrounds. If you are interested in working on issues related to health, post-incarceration reentry, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, poverty, housing and unemployment you should strongly consider applying. Position available immediately, for a one year commitment. Room, board, health insurance and a small stipend. A private furnished bedroom and sitting room separated from the living area of our guests and a bathroom shared with the other live in staff person.
